What if the material is the problem?

Sometimes the challenge in a component is not the design, it is the material.

Technical Ceramics

A metal component may wear too quickly, heat may become a limitation, electrical insulation may be required, corrosion may shorten lifetime, weight may matter, or an application may simply be reaching the limits of what conventional materials can provide.

This is where technical ceramics become interesting.

At KG Fridman, we want to grow this part of our business – and we are looking for more companies, engineers and development teams facing material challenges where advanced ceramics could make a difference.

The starting point does not have to be:
“We need a ceramic component.”

Quite the opposite.

It can simply be:

“We have a component that is not performing the way we need it to.”

That is a much more interesting conversation. Together with our manufacturing partners, we can explore whether materials such as alumina, zirconia, aluminium nitride or other advanced ceramic solutions could provide the properties the application requires.

And sometimes the answer will be ceramic, sometimes it will not. But finding that out starts with understanding the application.

So here is our invitation:

Do you have a component where wear, temperature, corrosion, electrical properties, weight or material lifetime is limiting performance?

Send us the drawing, tell us about the application – or simply tell us about the problem.

We would like to talk.
